Holy Trinity Anglican Catholic Church, Lafayette Louisiana
Welcome to Holy Trinity's Website

Holy Trinity is a member of the Anglican Catholic Church. The Anglican Catholic Church is a worldwide body of Christians. We are Anglican because our tradition of prayer and worship is rooted in the Church of England and it's Book of Common Prayer. Specifically, we use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer to structure our worship services. We are Catholic because we believe and practice the universal or catholic faith of the Church.

We read Biblical lessons during each service, using the King James Version of the Holy Bible. The Bible forms the center of our worship and most of our worship service is taken directly from the Word.

We practice several types of prayer. Some prayer is led by the officiant of the service, typically an ordained clergyman. Some prayer is corporate prayer, said together in unison. Some prayer is silent, individual prayer.

We practice a discipline of body posture in our worship. In general, we stand to praise and proclaim God. We kneel to pray intercessions, petitions, oblations, and thanksgivings. We sit to learn from the Holy Bible or from our spiritual leaders. The exception to this sitting rule is that we stand for the reading of the Gospels, because they proclaim the words and deeds of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Exceptions to this practice are made for those with physical injury or infirmity.

We also practice intercessory prayer, and are happy to pray for anyone in need. Just contact us via our contact page and we will be happy to pray for your needs as well.
